In light of English Month, the English Major Society (EngMaSoc) of Saint Joseph College staged its highly anticipated theater play at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on November 24, 2024. The event showcased the artistry and wit of EngMaSoc members from all year levels, joined by students, faculty, and guests.
The play was masterfully guided by Mr. Ralph Vincent Maraon, Vice Governor of the College of Teacher Education, who served as master of ceremonies. EngMaSoc Mayor Ms. Alexa Araรฑez formally opened the event with her welcoming address, followed by intermission numbers between each play presentation.
“The theater play exemplifies the members’ wit, creativity, and commitment to artistic and language expression,” said Ms. Araรฑez.
The theater play featured impressive performances: Pyramus and Thisbe and Oedipus Rex by 3rd Year L; A Midsummer Night’s Dream by 2nd Year K; Medea by 2nd Year L; and Apollo and Daphne, along with Pygmalion and Galatea by 3rd Year K. The performances demonstrated exceptional acting skills, creative storytelling, and comedic timing.
The audience was captivated by the energy, passion, and dedication of the EngMaSoc members. The English Major Society’s event successfully brought together students, faculty and guests for an evening of entertainment and camaraderie.
