EVRAA 2023 | Fritz: A Real Champion

Fritz Andreh Nohrel Gerasta, a medalist of five and a friend of many, wins a Palarong Pambansa spot! A real champion that he is as he reaped multiple awards and won over the hearts of his opponents.

How monstrous Fritz is on stage is the complete opposite when he’s not. Angry and frustrated when performance-mode on but carefree and relaxed when after the competition. The amount of friends he has made is apparent as the games come to end. Fritz interacted with the others with very wide smiles and a calming demeanor. He’s friends not just with his own team but also from the other division’s delegation including Ormoc City which was considered their “rival” by many. Giving hugs and fist bumps to each other, it is transparent in Fritz’ and the other delegates’ eyes and smiles that there is a bond and connection they have established even for a short time. His interaction with them screams nothing but wholesomeness, sportsmanship at its finest. However, it does not end there.

In the awarding ceremony of the Arnis competition, the officials asked volunteers from the delegates to make the ambience a little bit less stuffy, they did. And Fritz did not hesitate to raise his hands and even paired up with one of Ormoc’s delegates to dance the ‘Big Boy’ trend. What a sight it was indeed! With laughter echoing the venue, the girls giggled and everyone was amazed as this boy showed his not-arnis related movesโ€”youthfulness overflowing. With hands in the air, being stunned is an understatement. From Arnis boy to Big boy real quick!

In competitions, it is not just all about the medals and awards; sportsmanship is as valuable as they are. And Fritz understood this more than anyone else. He’s a real champion!
