In light of the annual College of Teacher Education Days, the said program held its traditional Mr. & Ms. CTE 2025 pageant and Literary Musical contest, a captivating showcase of talent, intellect, and confidence between Team Facilitator and Team Motivator, themed “Upholding Filipino Excellence,” on January 24, 2025, at Bishop Hacbang Gym.
The program commenced with a heartfelt opening prayer, setting a reverent tone for the night. Following this were the National Anthem and SJC Hymn, a powerful legacy of the institution’s spirit. In welcoming remarks, Mr. Ralph Maraon, CTE Vice Governor, expressed excitement, celebrating the dedication and inspiring qualities of the participating individuals.
“Each of them represents the best of what it means to be a Filipino young, carrying, hardworking, and driven by passion and purpose. May your journey tonight inspire everyone here to continue upholding Filipino excellence, not just as a goal, but as a way of life,” said Maraon.
Next, the esteemed panel of judges was introduced by the host; their expertise set the standard for the evening’s contests. The clearly outlined criteria for judging ensured transparency and fairness in the evaluation of both the Mr. & Ms. CTE and Literary Musical contests. A captivating teaser video offered a glimpse before the contests began, building anticipation.
A high-energy production number by the contestants ignited the stage, followed by a one-on-one vocal solo battle, showcasing the singing talents of the participants. Their articulate responses demonstrated not only their poise but also their dedication to the field of education. A spirited Balagtasan followed, showcasing the participants’ love of the Filipino language.
The evening continued with a captivating singing performance by the host, entertaining the audience while waiting for the contestants. The questions ranged from innovative approaches to teaching to strategies for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for diverse learners.
A vibrant HipFolk performance by Team Facilitator followed, and a moving song by Ellajane Niรฑa Oliva, vocal judge, added further layers to the evening’s diverse program before the final walk and announcement of the Mr. & Ms. CTE 2025 and Runners-Up.
