On November 12, 2024, the DOST Southern Leyte PSTO, in collaboration with DOST Regional Office No. VIII, conducted the 2025 Scholarship Caravan in Southern Leyte at Maasin City National High School (MCNHS). The event was attended by SJC SHS STEM students, along with some Non-STEM students.
The caravan included insightful sessions on the DOST-SEI scholarship programs, providing guidance on the application process. Mr. Jone James Rosales, the Scholarship Focal of the DOST Regional Office VIII, served as the resource speaker, offering personalized support to help students gain a clearer understanding of the requirements and advantages of pursuing careers in science and technology. Meanwhile, Ms. Emee Sheila Pelona from the Provincial Science and Technology Office of Southern Leyte highlighted the priority programs of the DOST-SEI Scholarship to assist students in navigating their applications.
The DOST-SEI scholarship program aims to support intelligent and talented Filipino youth in their academic pursuits while fostering the growth of the country’s scientific workforce.
