The instructors and the senior students from the College of Liberal Arts gathered together for the first-ever Pinning Ceremony held at the Maasin Cathedralโ€™s Pastoral Center on February 21, 2025. This intimate ceremony serves as an initiation towards the students for their deployment to various language teachings and a transition into the working profession.

The ceremony was facilitated by the senior students with the support of their Practicum Adviser, Mr. Edgar Tabinas and the instructors from the College of Liberal Arts. The event was filled with anticipation and hope as this was the first-ever Pinning Ceremony held throughout the history of the department.

The Senior Education Program Specialist, DepEd-Region VIII Southern Leyte Division and one of the SJC-CLA Alumni, Mr. Zedrick G. Malbas, was invited to give a heartfelt inspirational talk to the AB-English student instructors. The talk was about the hardships and wonderful experiences he had gone through during his time as a student.

7 English major students were pinned and honored; and the Oath-Taking was administered by the Practicum Adviser. The ceremony was successfully conducted and it marks the start of the student instructorsโ€™ journey of teaching, inspiring and molding young minds.

Congratulations to the newly pinned students from the College of Liberal Arts!
