Excitement and school pride surged through the Mandia Gym as Saint Joseph College welcomed the Ormoc delegation on February 26, 2025, marking the start of their stay in the Junior High School Department for the EVRAA Meet 2025.
With dynamic hosts Adrian Mancera and Joyce Morada at the helm, the program unfolded with the perfect mix of prestige and enthusiasm. A distinguished presence elevated the occasionโMaasin City Mayor Hon. Nacional Mercado set an inspiring tone for the evening. The gathering began with a solemn prayer led by Mr. Jerome Malinao, followed by the National Anthem and the SJC Hymn, stirring a deep sense of pride and camaraderie.
Messages from Msgr. Oscar Cadayona, School President of Saint Joseph College; Dr. Joey Sulana, Education Program Supervisor for Araling Panlipunan; and Hon. Nacional Mercado, Mayor of Maasin City, echoed throughout the gym. Their words reminded everyone that beyond the competition, EVRAA Meet 2025 is about fostering friendships, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence.
Josephinians then took center stage with electrifying performances that kept the energy high. Modern and hip-hop dancers wowed the crowd with their dynamic moves, while a captivating vocal performance filled the venue with excitement. The atmosphere was electric, a testament to the schoolโs dedication to making the Ormoc delegation feel at home.
As the night progressed, Dr. Ana Leizel Villaver, Senior Education Program Specialist for Social Mobilization, took the stage to emphasize the importance of the gatheringโnot just as a welcoming ceremony but as a chance to build connections, foster belonging, and set the tone for the days ahead. Her words left a lasting impact, ensuring that the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie would thrive beyond the gym walls. With spirits lifted and bonds already forming, the evening closed with a well-deserved dinnerโa shared moment of warmth and anticipation.
