The path to holiness is never easy,
That’s why it’s not walked by many.
But those who answered God’s call,
Made that treacherous journey possible.
The Saints that we honor and look up to,
They were once like me and you.
They weren’t perfect, but God saw them through,
As they journeyed through life, they became the Saints that we now knew.
Some made gestures so grand,
Like defending faith through death and taking a moral stand.
As St. Stephen, who died by stones,
And St. Augustin, who left theological lessons in tones.
While others did things in the simplest way,
Like being chaste all their life and virtuous every day.
Such as the Blessed Virgin Mary, who in chastity did stay,
And St. Therese, who spent her heaven doing good on earth every day.
They expressed their love for God in ways so different,
Yet their inspiring journeys were equally evident.
And God embraced them, no matter their story,
Motivating us to live our lives filled with His glory.
As they remind us to live our faith and carry our crosses,
Let us be encouraged to walk the path walked by Jesus.
