IN PHOTOS | In pursuit of continued excellence and quality education, the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) conducted a Level 2 Onsite Program Accreditation Resurvey Visit to the Elementary Department of Saint Joseph College, Maasin, Leyte on March 20-21, 2025.

The Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) is a private, voluntary, non-profit, and service organization that accredits, or quality assures academic programs of its member schools and does institutional accreditation.

The said accreditation consisted of interviews, classroom observations, assessed the school’s quality, services, and operations through self-evaluation and external review, focusing on areas like leadership, quality assurance, resource management, teaching-learning, student services, and research.

The PAASCU Accreditation Team was chaired by Mr. Marc Hernandez followed by the members, Ms. Estrella Godinez, Ms. Rosalina Babatid, Mr. Lincoln Ariz, Ms. Mary Rose Dator, Mr. Gino Calumpang and Mr. Jervy Robles, who are all respected and reputable educators from different colleges and universities in the Philippines.

The first PAASCU visit in the elementary department was in 1999 wherein after a deliberation was granted a Level I status and now in the present, the department has already gone through the evaluation process for a Level 2 accreditation resurvey.

This indicates how committed and dedicated Saint Joseph College (SJC) is in providing quality education and fostering a nurturing environment. The school also look forward to the significant assessment that will emerge from this process and will remain resolute to serve the students and the community.
