In a vibrant fusion of talents and intellect, two programs have united to form one dynamic college department. Last Thursday, this unified studentry came together to celebrate SJCโs Family Day 1โan event that fosters unity, engagement, and enjoyment. Above all, it serves as a reminder of the new identity given to us as we enter the portals of this institutionโbeing Josephinians.
As the day unfolded, the department’s officers organized โPalaro sa CEA,โ a series of traditional games that brought smiles and laughter to the faces of the students. The highlight of the event was the “Paper Dance,โ where selected couples from both programs took center stage, creating a festive Valentine’s atmosphere that had the audience cheering and clapping for their favorite couples.
The participants glided across the floor as the music played, captivating the crowd with their remarkable creativity and balance. This performance was a delightful blend of skill and humor, as the couples managed the shrinking paper with impressive poise and innovation.
With each round, as the paper became smaller, the couples adapted their moves, showcasing their quick thinking and coordination. It was evident that while they excel in their studiesโparticularly in mathematicsโthey also know how to relax and enjoy themselves, demonstrating the importance of teamwork and balance. Their studies need precision and innovation, and this playful game mirrored the collaborative spirit of design projects, where brainstorming and adaptability are crucial. The game not only entertained and energized the entire department, but it also demonstrated the strong connections theyโve built with each other. It proved that thereโs plenty of room for fun and friendship alongside their academic commitments, reminding everyone that creativity can flourish in both serious and light-hearted moments.
The success of the event was largely due to the dedicated leadership of the departmentโs governor, Miss Syra Joie Daganato, and her team of co-officers. Despite unexpected rain showers threatening to disrupt the event, their resilient approach ensured everything went smoothly. She expressed that, โThe key to our eventโs success was the collaborative efforts and creative ideas of each officer. Our main goal is to achieve unity within two programs where students can all engage, enjoy and build a good relationship with one another.”
At the College of Engineering and Architecture, the two programs celebrated Family Day 1 with joy and enthusiasm as they created another core memory that forever will be imprinted on their minds and hearts.
