DVOREF, Tacloban CityโJosephinian athlete Ms. Sophia Leigh Espina is set for Nationals after securing top spot in the Women’s Category (Individual) at the PRISAA Regional Chess Tournament on February 15, 2025.
Espina won all four of her matches, earning First Place in her respective Board. Her remarkable skills on the chessboard also placed her 2nd in the Overall Women’s Category for Chess, competing against athletes from various schools across the region.
Following this success, Espina is set to compete in the PRISAA National Chess Tournament in Tuguegarao City.
