MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte โ Monsignor Oscar Cadayona, President of Saint Joseph College, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to marking February 25 each year as a reminder of the peaceful struggle for democracy during the EDSA People Power Revolution.
In an interview with the Catholic news site UCA News, Cadayona explained the importance of this tradition: โEver since, weโve marked February 25 as a holiday to instill in our studentsโ consciousness that there was Edsa, that there were peopleโyoung and old, rich and poorโfighting to end oppression and dictatorship by peaceful means.โ
The observance continues to be a significant part of the collegeโs educational efforts, reminding the community of the shared values of unity, freedom, and peace that the revolution represents.
