MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte โ€“ Monsignor Oscar Cadayona, President of Saint Joseph College, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to marking February 25 each year as a reminder of the peaceful struggle for democracy during the EDSA People Power Revolution.

In an interview with the Catholic news site UCA News, Cadayona explained the importance of this tradition: โ€œEver since, weโ€™ve marked February 25 as a holiday to instill in our studentsโ€™ consciousness that there was Edsa, that there were peopleโ€”young and old, rich and poorโ€”fighting to end oppression and dictatorship by peaceful means.โ€

The observance continues to be a significant part of the collegeโ€™s educational efforts, reminding the community of the shared values of unity, freedom, and peace that the revolution represents.
